Optimization of Energy and Water Quality Management Systems for Drinking Water Utilities
Abstract
This project addressed the reduction of greenhouse gases (GHGs) while optimizing the level of energy efficiency at drinking water facilities. Specifically, this study synthesized and assessed the growing body of information on the Energy and Water Quality Management System (EWQMS) framework; developed a functional specification for a GHG module that will be incorporated into EWQMS software; and implemented a pilot version of the modified EWQMS software at water utilities. The California Energy Commission is reviewing the draft of the final project report for final editing and will post the final report on their website sometime in 2015.
