Integrating Energy Data into Water and Wastewater Utility Operations: Best Practices and Challenges around Components
Abstract
Colorado State University (CSU) proposes to develop a water-sector-specific guidebook focused on deploying real-time energy data and IoT sensor frameworks to reduce energy consumption and optimize operations. This guidebook will support water utilities by providing an IoT-aware energy framework that integrates real-time energy data for informed decision-making and predictive operations. Led by Principal Investigator Dr. Conrad, a seasoned expert in energy management challenges within the water sector, the project builds on his extensive experience with the Water Research Foundation. The proposed research will enhance existing energy management practices by incorporating real-time data into operational decision-making, fostering more efficient and sustainable water utility operations.
