The Argonomic and Environmental Availability of Biosolids-P Phase II
Abstract
Concerns about water quality degradation associated with land application of manures and biosolids have generated national and state regulations that focus on P as the limiting nutrient to eutrophication of most freshwater supplies. Mandated P-based nutrient management could significantly constrain biosolids recycling programs. The goal of this project was to continue efforts begun in Phase I (O’Connor et al., 2002) to characterize the form, solubility, and bioavailability of P in biosolids and to expand into consideration of P transport issues. The intent was to generate data that foster rational nutrient management policies for land-based recycling. Published by WERF. 108 pages. Soft cover and online PDF. (2006)
