Project #1666
Evaluation of Potential Nutrient Impacts Related to Florida's Water Reuse Program
$0
Abstract
Nitrogen and phosphorous loading into Florida waterways from point and non-point sources is an ecological concern. The rise in nutrient levels in Floridian waterways, leading to waterbody impairment from designated beneficial uses, frequently occurs in tandem with escalating urbanization. To date, there are very limited analytical reconnaissance techniques that can directly assist in elucidating the origins of the nutrients contributing to the impairment of Floridian waterways. The project provides an alternative methodology for distinguishing between sources of nutrients found in water bodies through the use of selected organic and inorganic microconstituents.
