Epidemiologic Study of Health Effects Associated With Low Pressure Events in Drinking Water Distribution Systems

The general scope of work to be performed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) involves the following activities: (1) organize and coordinate a pilot study that will allow the study team and water utilities to become familiar with implementation and logistical aspects of the study, and (2) conduct a multi-site epidemiologic study among households that receive water from five water utilities across the United States with sufficient statistical power to evaluate human health risks associated with low pressure events in drinking water distribution systems in the United States under typical conditions.
