Abstract
Identifies specific compounds and groups of compounds that produce tastes and odors in drinking water using a new sensory panel flavor profile analysis coupled with GC - MS analysis. Develops correlations between flavor profile analysis and instrument analysis of taste- and odor-producing compounds. Clearly details the practical application of the flavor profile analysis technique using odor reference standards and cross-panel comparisons. Published in 1989.
