A Novel Approach to Seawater Desalination Using Dual-Staged Nanofiltration

Abstract

Develops a selection protocol to assess the suitability of nanofiltration membranes for a dual-staged system as an alternative to traditional reverse osmosis membranes. Also develops practical guidelines for operational optimization and finished water blending strategies as well as a possible basis for minimizing or avoiding disinfectant usage based on the viral removal capability.
