Abstract
Explores the feasibility of using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) for the analysis of nutrients and heavy metals in sewage sludge, biosolids, and receiving soil in order to provide environmental monitoring that is accurate, cost effective, and timely. The research demonstrated that rapid, simultaneous, real-time, cost-effective monitoring of nitrogen, organic matter, moisture, copper, and lead in wet sewage sludge and biosolids is feasible using NIRS. 122 pages.
