Abstract

The science of trace organic compound (TOrC) exposures and their ecological impacts is evolving rapidly. This understanding requires a weight-of-evidence (WoE) approach to reduce the uncertainty of multiple stressor linkages. The knowledge gained using this approach sheds light on the roles of TOrCs and other stressors and will allow managers to determine needs for future monitoring and/or treatment technology investments. The research provides a useful and usable screening framework for utility managers to assess the potential risk to aquatic life from discharges that may contain TOrCs. Published by WE&RF. 395 pages.
