Abstract

Phase 1 of this project includes a draft protocol designed to be used by local, state, and federal health and environmental officials. Following pilot testing and refinement of the draft protocol, successful implementation could provide information about the occurrence of reported symptoms near sites where soil amendments, including biosolids, animal manures, food residuals, and others are applied to land. WERF is currently pilot testing the investigation protocol (Phase 2) prior to formal acceptance and use. WERF recognizes that by publishing the draft protocol, entities with an interest in agricultural soil amendments including biosolids may use or adapt it for their use prior to completion of the subsequent phases. This draft protocol has not yet been demonstrated by WERF to determine the accuracy of the information or conclusions derived from implementations of it. Phase 2 pilot testing (08HHE5PP) findings will be available 12/10. Published by WERF 120 pgs. CD & Online PDF. (2007)
