Abstract

Compiles and analyzes data from operating brackish (ground and surface), seawater, and wastewater membrane desalination facilities to result in recommendations for the design and operation of desalination facilities to maximize energy efficiency and reduce energy use and costs. Also investigates the relationships between plant location, design, operation and maintenance, and energy use and cost. Research partner: California Energy Commission. Published in 2011.
