Abstract

For inactivation of adenovirus, Cryptosporidium oocysts, and validation test microbes by medium-pressure ultraviolet light, this project (1) developed action spectra data; (2) developed and demonstrated models that predict inactivation; (3) examined the impact of lamp output, sleeve UV transmittance, and water UV absorbance spectra; (4) developed UV dose monitoring algorithms and validation matrices; and (5) produced a guidance document. Research partner: EPA and AWWA. Published in 2015.
