Abstract

Evaluates the use of low-pressure membrane filtration in conjunction with powdered activated carbon as a polishing treatment in softening water treatment plants. Optimizes nanofiltration as a polishing treatment for the reduction of disinfection by-product precursors, pesticides and herbicides, hardness, and microbial pathogens.
