Abstract

Develops a subsurface biogeochemical barrier composed of reactive iron hydroxide minerals and iron bacteria for in-situ treatment of arsenic. Phase I (#3082) was published in 2006. Phase II (#4059) further investigates problems encountered in Phase I (entrained air, preferential flow paths) and includes process tuning so that the technology will be more robust and less costly. Phase II was published in 2009. Research partner: AWTP. Foundation subscribers can download this Web-only report.
