Abstract
Investigates the physical and chemical properties of aquatic natural organic matter and the relationship of these to treatability by coagulation, activated carbon adsorption, disinfection by-product formation, and assimilable organic carbon formation following ozonation. Provides recommendations to utilities on specific raw water parameters to measure in order to predict the impact of NOM on treatability. Published in 1993.
