Abstract

The objective of this project was to determine the effectiveness of common drinking water treatment processes in controlling cyanotoxin levels. The final report includes a cost evaluation of the treatment options evaluated and discussion of the applicability of the results to other utilities treating river water. The report also summarizes previous work and generates data into practical information for water treatment plant operators. Tailored collaboration partners were Water District #1 of Johnson County, City of Olathe Public Works Department, City of Topeka Water Division, and Kansas Water Office. The City of Lawrence also participated in this project. Published in 2017.
