Abstract
A number of challenging issues exist regarding the understanding the significance of the presence of microplastics (MPs) in aquatic ecosystems. This White Paper consists of a critical literature review with an identification of key knowledge gaps based. The recommendations of recent U.S. EPA, NOAA, and critical reviews on research needs were considered. The review focused on addressing the following risk-associated issues to identify the extent of knowledge gaps. Published by WE&RF. 48 pages. Online PDF. (2017)
