Nutrient Management Data Explorer Tool
Associated Project
The project team developed a technology deliverable, the “Nutrient Management Data Explorer (NMDE),” that allows users to interactively explore the database with information from various case studies (described in Chapter 2). The tool can assist in deriving helpful information about BMP implementation and subsequent water quality changes observed. The tool allows watersheds to be filtered based on geophysical characteristics, BMP implementation, water body type, and other parameters to explore dynamically grouped (based on selected criteria) parameters. It also allows the examination of waterbody-specific implementation and performance. The underlying database and the web interface are designed to enable expansion and add more information from other waterbodies when available. It is the project team’s hope that the NMDE can become established as an example clearinghouse for collecting and analyzing nationwide data on nutrient impairments and BMP implementation.
