Abstract
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been widely detected in wastewater solids, and most conventional solids handling processes have not demonstrated the capability to reduce PFAS concentrations in the solids. However, there is potential for incineration to reduce the release of PFAS into the environment. This project will investigate the effectiveness of sewage sludge incinerators at PFAS destruction.
