Examines the potential presence of identified contaminants or impurities of concern in hypochlorite at concentrations that could trigger certain compliance and/or public notifications if an MCL exists or the impurity has been listed as a potential contaminant of concern, such as perchlorate. Examines the factors that influence the formation of these contaminants. Informs water systems of these potential unintended consequences and recommends appropriate actions that can be taken to mitigate the introduction of these impurities to the water supply.
