Full Cost Accounting Protocol for Biosolids Management

This report details a methodology to determine the full costs of biosolids management programs including O&M, assets, and indirect costs. This information can help biosolids managers identify areas for cost savings and examine the results of operations or other changes. The approach was also designed to be flexible, and applicable to subsets of a complete biosolids treatment train. The project team, with input from many wastewater utilities, developed a workbook and spreadsheets that provide a logical framework for performing a full cost analysis. The spreadsheets can be applied with appropriate modifications to address site-specific factors.
