Abstract

This research provides a comprehensive evaluation of adsorptive medias and strategies for optimizing siloxane removal from biogas systems for establishing cost-effective removal of siloxanes from biogas, thereby improving the required gas quality for both cogeneration and pipeline injection requirements. The results of this study are crucial for advancing the design of siloxane treatment strategies and the selection of optimal adsorbent technologies for the removal of volatile methylsiloxanes (VMSs) from biogas while also documenting attenuation in siloxane formation resulting from upstream iron salt additions during digestion.
