Abstract
Research study seeks to identify and compare microbial community patterns at various stages of advanced treatment in groundwater replenishment systems (GWRS) using next-generation DNA sequencing technologies. This will provide a better understanding of the communities of microorganisms that may be present in GWRS water and the treatment system. The results of this study could be used in furture studies to develop more effective control measures for biofouling and improve operational efficiency - all to benefit treatment design and lower costs related to design and monitoring of GWRS-treated water.
