Abstract
Evaluates strategies for and potential benefits of reducing water treatment residual discharges to surface water. Includes water treatment processes and technologies, costs (capital, lifecycle, and service rate impacts), and environmental and social considerations. Considers the full range of economic, environmental, and social (i.e. triple bottom line) considerations. Research partner: EPA. Published in 2010.
