p>Project 4652 developed a Water Footprint Assessment Tool that can be used as a guide on how to conduct a water footprint assessment. The tool includes functionality for evaluating water scarcity and water quality degradation impacts (local freshwater and marine eutrophication). An additional workbook provides an example of how the water footprint assessment can be calculated and tailored by a water utility using the tool. Guidance on using the tool can be found in Chapter 5 of the project 4652 report.
