Biological Nutrient Removal Survey (5087)

Sensor-based control systems for biological treatment and nutrient removal are becoming more common, but challenges to effective deployment, including accuracy, reliability, O&M requirements, and cost-effectiveness still exist. WRF’s ongoing project, Implementation of Innovative Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Processes through Improvement of Control Systems and Online Analytical Measurement Reliability and Accuracy, will build a set of tools to help practitioners evaluate these systems. The tools will be based on experiences of water resource recovery facilities (WRRFs) across North America, and we are asking for feedback via an electronic survey.

We are seeking broad representation, so even if you are not yet running a nutrient removal process but have sensors in your biological process, sharing your experiences with the on-line instruments and related controls you do have will be valuable.
