Abstract
This project will identify quantitative log reductions of viral pathogens and appropriate surrogates across unit treatment processes and full treatment trains for water reuse applications. This will include identification and development of methods to detect and quantify infectious human pathogenic viruses and surrogates in wastewater matrices. In addition, a technical framework will be developed to provide guidance for validating treatment processes, log removal values, and treatment log-reduction credits. Additional details on the project approach can be found on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's website. The year two project update is also available.
