Abstract

Convened an internal workshop with up to 30 experts representing utilities, federal/state agencies, NGOs, academia, and consulting organizations to develop a multi-year research plan that provides a body of knowledge to help municipal drinking water suppliers design and implement effective source water protection programs. Workshop and resulting research plan considers ways in which water suppliers can work with other sectors (e.g., agriculture, industry, municipal wastewater managers, stormwater managers, etc.) to protect the quality and quantity of drinking water supplies. Research project objectives, preliminary descriptions, and budgets are defined as well as level of priority in the multi-year plan. Research partner: WERF.
