Abstract

Determines the extent of inactivation/removal credit for Giardia cysts and viruses that can be given to utilities that use lime softening to treat surface water or groundwater under the direct influence of surface water. Includes bench-scale studies on softened waters at various pH conditions, with and without chemical disinfectant present. Published in 1994.
