Relative Dominance of HAAs and THMs in Treated Drinking Water

Abstract

Investigates the occurrence of haloacetic acids (HAAs) and trihalomethanes (THMs) in treated drinking water and determines conditions that contribute to the dominance of one group of disinfection by-products over the other in distribution systems. Reports on bench and field studies in several distribution system water sources to investigate factors that contribute to the formation of THM and HAA. Research partner: M/DBP Council.
