Abstract
This study outlines processes and tools for assessing potential groundwater quality impacts due to the beneficial reuse of recycled water. The research team also conducted a pilot field test using effluent meeting tertiary recycled water criteria to collect water quality and operational data for small wastewater treatment systems.
The final report, A Protocol for Estimating Potential Water Quality Impacts of Recycled Water Projects, will facilitate the development and implementation of beneficial reuse projects using recycled water that meets the California Department of Public Health tertiary treatment standards for unrestricted use.
