Abstract
Real-time sensor-based monitoring has the potential to improve our understanding of water quality issues within the collection system. This project demonstrated, at full scale, the ability of use monitoring technology to identify, alert, and trigger responses to harmful discharges within a sewer system. The report examines the deployments led by three utility partners that investigated the real-world capability of a commercial monitoring system to detect pollutant spikes and react to the detection.
