Abstract
The goal of this project was to develop a knowledge base on the application of ultraviolet (UV) technologies for wastewater and reuse applications. Specific objectives included benchmarking the performance of UV systems, developing recommendations for UV implementation, and developing troubleshooting tools that utilities can use to quantify and optimize UV system operation. The research involved 16 audits of installed UV systems, an evaluation of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) data, and an evaluation of UV system performance using UV dose models based on computational fluid dynamics.
