Abstract
Biofiltration facilities need practical biofiltration monitoring tools that provide rapid feedback on the performance of their biological filters. While operators need step-by-step guidance on implementation of bioprocess monitoring tools, engineers and scientists need practical and quantitative guidance on interpreting the bioprocess monitoring data and incorporating these results into a process control strategy to enhance overall performance of biofiltration. This project provides such guidance. The ultimate goal of this research was to integrate monitoring and control components to enable robust process monitoring and control for biofiltration.
