Abstract

This report describes approaches for utilizing Adaptive Implementation (AI) in the face of uncertainty related to data, models, pollutant loads, the impacts of controls, and uses and criteria. The report's scope extends to the applicability of AI for promoting water quality improvement outside of the TMDL program. The report describes the current water quality management process in order to set the stage for proposing ways to bring AI to water quality management.
