Abstract

This project serves as a comprehensive update to WRF’s 1999 and 2016 Residential End Uses of Water studies, which analyzed water use in single-family homes and featured disaggregating high-frequency water use data into end uses of water. This update will be the largest, most comprehensive study ever, building on the last two studies with over 50 utility partners and water use data for over 100k households across the United States. This project will focus on both single-family and multi-family residences, unlike the last two studies which were limited to single-family homes. This data can be used to improve engineering estimates of residential water consumption for planning utility conservation programs, supply planning and other purposes.
