Localized Control of Disinfection By-Products by Spray Stripping in Storage Tanks
Abstract
This project investigated in-tank spray aeration (ITSA) to provide guidance on the design, permitting, operation, and maintenance of ITSA for localized treatment of DBPs. The results can assist utilities in complying with the upcoming Stage 2 Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts Rule (DBPR). In addition to the research report, the project produced an In Tank Spray Aeration TTHM Removal Self-Assessment Tool. The tool is available under Project Resources/Web Tools. Research partner: American Water. Published in 2015.
In addition, an article focused on this project was published in the July 2018 issue of Opflow, and is posted below under Project Papers.
