WRF is seeking a full-time Account Manager in either our Denver, CO office or Alexandria, VA office, who will help our subscribers discover opportunities and solve problems by delivering actionable water research and resources to meet the needs of the communities they serve. The Account Manager will focus on retaining existing subscribers and recruiting new subscribers in a designated geographic area.

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrate the WRF value proposition
  • Conduct periodic visits with subscribers to assess their research needs, present WRF’s latest research and resources, and share how they can get involved in WRF programs and research
  • Plan, organize, and moderate WRF workshops related to subscriber research needs
  • Build relationships with key subscriber staff to ensure continued subscription
  • Actively recruit new utility, consulting, and manufacturing subscribers, and broaden support for WRF within the water community
  • Identify key utility staff to get involved in research projects
  • Provide technical knowledge support and collaboration

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and water reuse issues in local and regional communities
  • Extensive knowledge of utilities, organizations, and the water industry
  • Effective communication skills including interpersonal and written communication
  • Professional presentation skills that can be adapted to various audiences
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in technical writing

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biological science, environmental science, chemistry, or related field is required
  • 5 years water experience required, a master’s degree can substitute for 2 years of experience
  • Customer service skills required
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Working Conditions

  • Location: Denver, CO or Alexandria, VA office
  • Attend key conferences
  • 25-30% travel is required and managed by the Account Manager to meet subscriber needs
