Abstract

Determines the strain variability of Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts using a molecular fingerprinting approach developed from available polymerase-chain-reaction technology. Describes the genetic characteristics that identify the source of the oocysts. Also discusses how utilities can incorporate the approach into source water monitoring programs. Published in 2001.
